Description- If stressed, the Cubicus Boxfish releases a poisonous substance, called ostracitoxin ( looks like red tide and sea cucumber toxins in general properties), from its mucous glands which will kill other fish in the tank very quickly.
The juvenile form is easily identifiable as having a yellow box-shaped body with brown spots. As an adult, the yellow will fade and become brown. This boxfish is known to jump from aquariums and will require plenty of open swimming room.Best kept in a peaceful community aquarium with other peaceful fish that will not bully the Yellow Boxfish. Feed a varied diet consisting of large chunks of meaty foods. These foods include krill, raw table shrimp, squid, clam and mussel. It is also a good idea to occasionally supplement with some type of herbivore diet containing marine algae.
